The thermal pool at the sportingfacilities of Eyjafjarðarsveit will be closed from 22 – 28 November due to technical difficulties at Norðurorka.

This weekend the 25 meter Icelandic swimming championships are held in Laugardalslaug thermal pool. The first competitors started jumped in on Thursday 18:30 and the tournament will end Sunday night.

The Hofsós swimmingpool was elected as one of five structures as Iceland´s nomination for the Mies van der Rohe prize. According to the Association of Icelandic Architects website the prize is without a doubt one of the most prestigious prize that can be received for architecture in Europe.
