For the third year in a row "Mottumars" is being held in Iceland. During "Mustache March", men are asked to grow a mustache or a beard in order to raise awareness of the struggle of men diagnosed with cancer. The campaign officially kicks of today at two o´clock with an opening ceremony held at Ásvallalaug thermal pool where firemen and police officers will compete at a swimming contest.

Árbæjarlaug thermal pool will close after 11:30 on Friday 24 February due to a staff meeting.

Due to a swimming competition, Sundhöll Reykjavík will be closed on Saturday 18 February between 09:00-12:00.

For the first time during the Winter Lights Festival, "Swimming Pool Night" will be held in Reykjavík. Some of the biggest thermal pools in Reykjavik offer different kind of festivities and open their doors for free on Saturday 11 February. The pools which are participating are: Laugardalslaug, Árbæjarlaug, Sundhöll Reykjavík and Ylströnd (Nauthólsvík). For more information please refer to www.vetrarhatid.is
